Hi Stu,
Saw your link over on BCUK. I too like the Cuillins and have done both winter and summer traverses in my fitter days.
I think one of the nicest days I've had out doors was where we'd been up top during the day where is was perfect climbing weather and yet still had the ridge pretty much to ourselves. We came down to the tents in the Glenbrittle campsite and my mate fired up the BBQ while I stood thigh high in the blue water of the bay flying my airfoil kite and watching a pod of dolphins play.
Good memories that'll stay with me.
Good luck with the Forum.
GB.

That sounds like a great day. I can't wait to get back to the Cuillins, next trip will be in winter where it takes on a whole different feel - imposing, severe but magical.
Thanks for joining, and thanks for the post. It's really appreciated.
Stu

The Lakes are featuring pretty highly at the minute, though you can't beat a summers day in the Yorkshire Dales

Loch Coruisk, Muckle Flugga, 7 Sisters, and Box Hill for a bit of a city escape...

For a quick overnight I like to camp along the banks of the Rouge River and Duffins Creek. Lots of potential spots still to be discovered within an easy one or two hour bike ride from home.

will prefer Germany because Germany is clean. Hotels, even inexpensive hotels and hostels are clean - the streets are clean and the restaurants are clean - Naturally, there are exceptions to the rule, but except on those nights or mornings after a festival, you are unlikely to find trash in the streets or find yourself walking on dirt roads as rickety vehicles drive by leaving you in a cloud of dust.
